		<description>Completely agree, Matt! My favourite, sharpest lens in my (thus-far fairly limited) Nikon arsenal is my 50mm f/1.8, which cost me under £70 brand new. On a "consumer dSLR" size sensor (Nikon's 1.5x crop factor, or Canon's 1.6x), it's one of the only affordable lenses that lets you really play with depth of field - and is sufficiently long in terms of focal length (75/80mm equivalent) that it is also a lovely portrait lens.
